Who would like to try this with me?

Instead of reacting to our emotional responses that we encounter (endlessly), what if we just immediately projected something good? – e.g. someone says something unsettling and you immediately point out [either in your mind or aloud] something good that exists within that direct, immediate experience. “You’re a very gentle spirit at heart.”
